Sir Keir Starmer is expected to urge partner nations to deliver Ukraine with more long-range missiles to strike Moscow's positions during discussions in Britain on Friday.

The prime minister will host Ukrainian President Zelensky alongside the so-called "group of committed partners", consisting of numerous of supporting nations who have agreed to offer Kyiv protection commitments once a ceasefire is brokered.

Ukraine's president has been appealing for several weeks for further advanced missile technology from the West, an action that Russia has stated would intensify the conflict.

Britain's leader will urge participants to ramp up the delivery of long-range weapons following a successful operation on an industrial facility in the Bryansk region, Russia, using Britain-delivered Storm Shadow missiles.
